My educational profile :) ITEC Post 1

Hello! My name is Jennifer Eason and I am a junior at Georgia Southern University in the Early Childhood Education program. I did my PPB at Mattie Lively Elementary here in Statesboro, GA. I have been recently placed at Claxton Elementary in a gifted classroom with second and fifth graders. I have been a three, two, and infant teacher in the past. Right now I am substitute teaching at the Child Develpment Center on campus. Since I have worked a great deal with very young chilren, I would love to teach grades pre-k through third grade. I love working with children and can't wait to be a Georgia Educator!!!!

  1. I didn't know you substiture taught at the Child Development Center. That would be such a good experience. I can see where you would be a great younger grades teacher. Good thing you have the patience teach them when they are little...unlike myself!

  2. I was placed at Claxton Elementary School. I love it there. Most of the teachers are eager to help, or so I have witnessed. I am in an EIP classroom and I was a little worried. I now realize that it is better because I get a wider range of experiences with the various classes she teaches. I still prefer to teach regular education classroom, but the EIP setting is not so bad.

  3. That is the cutest little dog ever! Sorry i know that isn't educational but I just had to tell you that! Anywho, I did my PPB in a 3-4 year old pre-k class. Let me tell you, that was some interesting stuff! You have to have a LOT of patience with them. I applaud you for being able to do that! How do you like the gifted classroom? I hope to have at least one of my observations in a non-regular ed classroom.

  4. Cute dog! I did my PPB at Mattie Lively too! What grade were you in? I loved Mattie Lively. The school was older, but I loved the staff and the 4th graders I was with. Now, I am at Sallie Z, and I like it there too! I have had the best of luck in my placement for both PPB and Curriculum. I hope you are enjoying everything and I wish you the best of luck!

  5. Isn't the Child development center cool? The open bathroom was kind of disturbing at first but I got used to it. I think young children are awesome to work with and K-3 were my original choices to work with. I've had a change of heart though, I think 3-5 may be more suited for me. I'm sure I'll know after taking methods II.
